You need to climb 430 steps uphill to get to the temples, but along the way, you can see hundreds of life-sized golden buddha statues. Look carefully! Each one is different! At the top, you will see a tall red pagoda and the Main Hall with ten thousand (10,000) buddha statues.
Located in Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon, this taoist temple is very popular at Chinese New Year. Many people go to the temple to make wishes with incense sticks. They also make wishes with fortune sticks.
There are more than 60 Tin Hau temples all over Hong Kong. (see map) There is even a floating temple! Fishermen went to the temples to worship the goddess of the sea. The most famous Tin Hau temple is in Yau Ma Tei. It was once on the seaside but now it is in the middle of Kowloon!
