Eat 2 servings of fruit and 2-3 servings of vegetables every day!
Fruit & Veggies are GREAT for us!
They have vitamins and minerals that are good for every part of our body. Some are great for our bones, others are great for our eyes, yet others are good for our skin. So be sure to eat a variety of different fruits and vegetables! Eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables and you can't go wrong!
An apple a day keeps the doctor away!
Most importantly, all the vitamins and minerals in fruits and veggies help our body heal and stop us from getting sick. During the winter, many people get a cold or the flu. Eating more fresh fruits that are rich in vitamin C can prevent you from getting sick. Oranges, lemons, kiwis and even vegetables such as broccoli and red peppers are high in vitamin C.
Make wise choices
Eating sweets and junk food every once is a while is okay. But before you reach for a doughnut, think about a tasty fruit or veggie snack. Fruits and vegetables keep you feeling full, not fat. For example, a banana for a snack will help your body recover after exercise. It makes your tummy feel full and satisfied, too.
Glowing Skin
Fruits and veggies are great for your skin! They have a lot of antioxidants that protect your skin from damage such as too much sunlight or smoking. They also lower inflammation that leads to spots. So eating a lot of fruit and veggies can clear your skin and keep you looking younger, longer!
How about a bowl of guacamole? Avocado is full of important fats that are great for your skin!
